Smurfit Building, Beaumont Hospital
Smurfit Building was first opened at Beaumont Hospital – the University’s principal teaching hospital – in 2000 and is home to the first Clinical Research Centre to be situated on a hospital site in Ireland.
RCSI Medicine students from Intermediate and Senior Cycle spend a lot of time in Smurfit Building, attached to general medical and surgical teams during clinical skills training and participating in research activities.
Upgrade to innovate
To improve the experience for our students, the University upgraded facilities in Beaumont and added a 30,000 sq. ft. three-story extension to Smurfit Building in 2018.
